Vintage 6.5" German Paper Mache Easter Egg

Paper Mache Easter eggs have been used in Germany to give treats since the late 19th century. Today, they're a highly collectible item. This 6.5" egg was made in Western Germany and dates to post WWII, likely the 50's or 60's. Most can be identified by opening them up and taking a look at the paper on the inside!

This egg is in good vintage condition with minimal wear and discoloration to the paper, more along the inside rim, all attributes consistent with age. The inside lace band is completely loose but could likely be glued back into place. Two pieces don't really stay closed any longer since the lace band holds the rim piece that allows them to snap.

I do my very best to inspect each piece, note any imperfections I may see, and support my findings with listing photos. But please remember these pieces are vintage or antique and have lived quite a life before you! Each piece is sold 'as is' and ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
